We’ve been running the bike workshop in the Brick Works for over 10 years. We’ve always aimed to provide a low cost service for local people – and we’ve relied on the generosity of local people to donate their pre-loved bikes to us. All the profits we’ve made have been paid over to The Brick (Queen’s Hall Action on Poverty) every year.
We now have a different way of working.
You won’t be able to drop your bike in and pick it up a few days later. Instead you can book your bike in for one of our repair club sessions. We’ll look at the bike with you, work out what needs doing and then hopefully get the work done with you whilst you wait. If you want to help or want to learn how to do the work yourself – that’s great.
At the end of the session you’ll take your bike away. It might be completely sorted or it might need further work. If it needs parts or spares we’ll work out with you what’s needed and then you can bring your bike back to the next / later session for the work to be completed.
We’ll obviously ask you to cover the cost of parts that are used and if you can to make a donation to help cover the costs of the workshop.
Our aim as always will be to keep bikes on the road at low cost – making sure they’re safe and enjoyable to ride.
